How much erectile dysfunction drugs do you dispense a day? I noticed back in the early 2000s I use to dispense if lucky one or two viagras a day. I just noticed that now, 10 to 20 percent of my pharmacy volume is now erectile dysfunction medication. It seems males with the big 3 also have ED drugs on file. Do you think this is due to the drug being generic? Or are more people hooking up now that its so easy with smartphones and internet? Why are so many people bucking when I'm stuck dispensing pills all day?

The price has come down from $200 a tablet to 25 cents and you're wondering why you're selling more?

Back in the 1970 there was no computer in my home. Now there are 4. Did nothing require computation back then?

So you seem to be saying that back then things had to be manually / by hand?

On a thread about ED...

Was this an intended or unintended coincidence?

Yea, I can remember in the pharmacy people always asking the price of the medication, and then saying no thanks. Now, because consumers are price sensitive, and the price has decreased substantially, it's go time.

Furthermore, e-companies are popping out addressing ED (getroman and forhims), which I find interesting, great business model too.

It's cool by the time I'm 60+ it will be cheap as dirt. Thanks for the generic.

Even for our generics at my old pharmacy (sildenafil) it was pretty expensive. Maybe something like $1-2 per tablet or more.

I’ve seen that too. Working overnight...my main concern was the 12:01 narcotic crowd. Now it’s the sildenafil/cialis crowd.. i don’t know which crowd is more annoying to deal with. At least the opioid addicts didn’t want to use a hundred different drug coupons or discount cards

Buying these for about $9 from our wholesaler.

Doctor sent a script for Cialis. I called him to inform him that generic Viagra is available. He sends a script for generic Viagra instead. Patient arrives and when we are about to dispense generic, he is furious saying he doesn't want no fake generic Viagra. You ungrateful ****s. You finally have a cheap option for ED and you still bitch and whine.

Oh that's cool, we got ours from Teva too, but ours were the 20 mg. I didn't know they made them that high in the generic, of course I wasn't in charge of ordering either, lol

I handed my technician a 20 dollar bill to fetch some pizza for lunch and he takes 45 minutes. He comes back empty handed and a big smile on his face. Apparently, on his way to la pizza loca he got an offer from a street walker for 20 bucks and did his business. This isn't the first time either. I counted the generic sildenafil and noticed a pill missing. Should I suspect?

45 minutes for $20? I haven’t priced such things but seems like a heck of a bargan.

Also if the pizza was for everyone doesn’t the tech owe everyone a share of the service they got with your money?

Is this for real?

Next time, you should ask him her number.

A while back there was a post about a tech who wouldn't ring up customers. My issue is the tech who spends the lunch money on fun and comes back empty handed. You really need to have patience to work in the pharmacy my friends.

Pharmacy is a stressful place. Sometimes you gotta let your teammates get some stress relief.
Man that is so wild, I've never heard of anything like that. Props to you for having the patience to deal with him.

Has anyone seen the commercials for Peyronie's disease treatments? Yeesht, just want I want to hear at dinnertime.

Tadalafil 20 mg is now available. It links to adcirca instead of cialis. (Kind of how sildenafil 20 mg links to revatio instead of viagra).

Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction (PIED)

Tadalafil/Cialis is going generic soon...
Yeah, had a horny old man offer to buy me some coffee when I got his Sildenafil Rx down to like $6 from $60+
Viagra = OTC in the UK...might happen in the US in like 5+ years time

There are a lot of drugs that are OTC in other countries that should be OTC here but will never be because of our dumb**** government. Like in Mexico, they have diazepam and lorazepam available OTC. Amazing.

I’m not sure that the US could handle OTC benzos.

Lol.

No they don't.

The article I read said they did. Not exactly a reputable source though, it was a travel blog.
Many countries allow the sale of drugs at the discretion of the pharmacist. You might be able to get them without seeing a physician, but I’d wager you need to consult with the pharmacist and they would determine the appropriate treatment.

Back in the day things were much more loosy goosy.

Pharmacists basically function as minor emergency physicians in rural Mexico.

You're probably still right in some small towns.

Russian aptyekas do sell codeine OTC

Why go to Russia for codeine, can't you get T3 in Canada?

Currently, Canadians can buy medications with low doses of codeine — for example, a maximum of 8 mg in a single pill — as long as two other medications are present, normally caffeine and a painkiller such as acetaminophen.

The medication must be kept behind the counter at drugstores, where pharmacists are supposed to carefully monitor individual sales to watch for abuse.

My buddy went to Thailand and got some OTC sildenafil. He called me a couple times to ask why it wasn't working. I asked him to show me the product and it was liquid sildenafil. I asked him if he was taking it 1 hour before activity and he said he thought you were suppose to rub it on your rocket. So if anyone goes to Thailand and gets the liquid OTC make sure to take it orally.

In Russia codeine abuses you!

In my state you can get Cheratussin directly from the pharmacist without a prescription. Behind the counter is what y'all call that, right?

Yes. It's a C-V I think so depending on the state it can be non controlled. My state can sell them in a small quantity over the counter (but it is kept behind the counter) and dispensed without a prescription.

Technically that is true in Florida as well but good luck finding a pharmacy that will do it. 🙂

What is the one of the biggest cause of ED? Diabetes and diabetes is on the rise plus a number of CVDs. It should be a shock to no one that ED is on the rise.

I also get patients that are in their 30s getting ED med.
Not sure if they truly have ED or not.
But yes, I noticed there have been more sales of ED med as well.
