So I have built my aptitude on q-bank to the point that I get consistent scores in the mid 80s for 5 or 6 straight days, and then WHAMO, suddenly a 68 :scared: . Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know what could be causing it? And most important, how to avoid it on the big day?

yo man...don't sweat it. that you're getting that high even is pretty damn good...the kaplan people themself say if you're above 70% and above (based on trends they have seen with their students) you'll prolly beat a 230 at least. of course take this with a grain of salt.

Don't stress....use the the low score to gauge where you're probably weaker. That'll help focus your studying. g'luck

wow man, I would be happy on days I got a 68!! Sounds like u are doing good. Pretty much everyone says on here that if u avg 70's then u are gonna get a good score. Just keep doign what u are doing

You are experiencing a common thing. It happened to me. One week before my test I got a 50 some percent. Dont worry. Qbank scores are difficult to correlate with the real test and there is so much variability in question difficulty that your score will jump up and down. If you are scoring in the mid 80s on RANDOMIZED questions you will do fine.

Idiopathic only got a 71% on Qbank and he rocked the NBME assessments (640 and 680).

Use the qbank as a learning tool and not as a predictor of how much you are gonna score on the real deal.
Anything above 65 is great.
Those who use the kaplan texts will easily score above 75. that does not nessacarily convert into high scores on the exam.
The most imp thing would be to learn from your mistakes and not to commit the same mistake twice.

Its called random distribution........Basically, you're not an 80%er but you're also not a 68%er either. You're somewhere in the middle. The range of scores is caused by a small sample size of questions. When you take the real the thing, it won't really make much of a difference b/c your not really competing against a number as much as against other people.
