Hii

I was reading Pleural Effusion Chapter from WM and found following errors:
Pg # 328, 329
1) According to the book, Transudate should meet ALL of the Light's criteria
Protein Fluid: Serum < 0.5
LDH Fluid: Serum < 0.6
LDH < 2/3rd of Serum
2) Exudate should meet ANY of the Light's criteria

any errors that u guys found in 33rd edition of this book?

Thank You

Did you add the bolded? I'm not sure what part was incorrect.

I did not add the bolded part. I did to draw attention to it

If fluid can be exudate if it meets any of the light's criteria then how can it be transudate by meeting all of light's criteria?
To be transudate, there should be absence of all of light's criteria unless it is pseudoexudate.

Following is the definition of normal fluid, NOT light's criteria but listed it under Light's criteria
Protein Fluid: Serum < 0.5
LDH Fluid: Serum < 0.6
LDH < 60% of Serum

The syntax was awkward to be sure, but I get what they were trying to say. If you have one of Light's criteria you have an exudate, and ALL criteria have to be negative in order to call a transudate a transudate
