Error on AMCAS ! Did anyone else classify post-bac classes as undergraduate classes ?

I made a mistake on AMCAS. Damn. Damn. Damn.

What do I do with all the schools for which I already submitted secondaries ?

This could end up not mattering at all. Maybe.

Look at the application summary that you get when you print your AMCAS app. It has a breakdown by undergrad prebac year, and then everything else gets lumped into postbac. Maybe AMCAS fixed it for you. They know your graduation date, so it could be automatic.

If it's not fixed, it still might not matter. Some schools don't differentiate prebac vs. postbac work at all. You might want to look at each of your 2ry schools to see if they mention separating postbac work out, in which case you could follow up with each to see if you need to make a correction.

Good luck with this.

Hi, I have a quick question about the classification of classes on the primary. I applied a little late so I should (fingers crossed) be verified any day now. I have looked at several threads and someone else seemed to think that you label the classes on the primary according to the level, so 100 level is freshman, 400 level is senior, etc. But that is not what I did. I am in grad school, but I took freshman (100 level) bio last year to fulfill prepreqs, but I still classified it as graduate because I thought they were asking for what my status was when I took the class. Was I right or wrong?

I was going to call AMCAS tomorrow to ask, but if someone already knows here, please shed light. Thanks!

(FYI- I submitted 8/21 and was verified today.)

They classified mine as graduate even though they were undergraduate courses. I filed for a correction.

This is from their instruction manual (p.41):

"Assign Post Baccalaureate (PB) status to any undergraduate level course
work you enrolled in:
• After receipt of your initial BA/BS degree.
• While enrolled in a graduate program, if course work is not applied to
a graduate degree.
• Assign Graduate (GR) status to any professional or graduate-level course
work that is not applied to an undergraduate degree.
• Do NOT assign Graduate (GR) status to any professional or graduate-level
course work applied to an undergraduate"

I put down that basic chem 1 and 2 organic 1 and 2 were undergrad however they changed them to either post bac or grad due to me having finished my masters degree when I took them. They also changed physics based astronomy to general science from physics. So I lost an A in a really difficult course. When emailed and asked about the changes they explained their changes however it still doesn't make me happy. They did include post bac courses in my overall science gpa though so maybe it isn't that big of deal.
