Anyone here use an essay editing service of some type? I found someone on here in the advertisement thread that helped me a lot with my personal statement (brainstorming, editing, and critiquing) over Skype. Unfortunately, he no longer offers his service or I would pay him to help me again. I'm writing a few essays for a scholarship at the school I will attend next year and was looking for help. Anyone with suggestions?

Yea, I think I'm just going to ask a few of my old professors who wrote letters for me to take a look.

Don't forget about that English professor you took a course with! I got some really great critiques on my essays from a literature professor I know. This professor knew me less well than my science professors so he was particularly good about letting me know when the "story" in my essay didn't feel complete since he couldn't mentally fill in the gaps using his personal ideas about me.

Typically I agree, but if you think that your PS needs a total overhaul, I think getting professional help is indicated. Profs/helprooms will typically only make minor changes.

Yea, I actually haven't started writing yet. I'm just brainstorming and whatnot and hit a huge writer's block which is why I was hoping to find a professional to help me.
