I know where I have to post about this, but it seems no one's available now or can proofread pharmcas essay in a reasonable amount of time.
I mustn't complain as people take their time out to do it voluntarily. Hence I am begging if there's anyone out there who can proofread my essay and provide me a feedback right away? I will be more than happy to return the same favor 🙂

If you follow the instructions in the Proofreading thread, you might be able to get your essay read in short order. I got mine read on the same day by following the instructions in that thread. The feedback I got were really good as well. Good luck! 🙂

so dangerous that u let some strangers online to proofread ur PS. Maybe considering ur friends or pharmacists that u work with?

I understand the danger but we dont share much confidential stuff in our ps tho, at least I dont do it. I will be gettingy friends to do it; wish my pharmacist had that 10-15 mins for me. Will consider that though. Thanks!

What's so dangerous about letting someone online proofread your personal statement? I don't really see any danger in it. Sure they're strangers, but I've met some strangers who are among some of the nicest people I ran across in life. Call me gullible, but I believe some people have a genuine heart that's eager to help without asking for anything in return. A rare, but true heaven-sent in my opinion! 🙂

It's dangerous to have someone online read it, especially on here because someone who hasn't started or completed theirs could read it and take portions of yours, submit it before you and then once you submit it looks like you copied sections

A personal statement is supposed to be just that... "personal." It should be unique to you and your life experiences. If you wrote a statement that's generic enough for someone to steal, then it's probably not a very good personal statement to begin with. Furthermore, a good statement tends to have a central theme that it builds on, so I imagine stealing portions from someone else's personal statement would make it pretty obvious that the work isn't your own. In short, if someone wrote a good personal statement, then it'd be very difficult to steal, and if it's easy to steal, then it's probably a cookie-cutter statement that's not very good. Just my humble opinion.

yeah if somebody steals yours and somehow if pharmCAS figures that out, both of you will get in trouble.. either find best friend to do your proofread or go to paid web site.

I agree with kaidou. There will always be a friend willing to read your PS so try that route first. Don't get me wrong I love the internet, but even I was paranoid about sharing mine to others online.

It's true that your application maybe put on hold and cause some delays if someone steals your personal statement. However, I'm sure if you wrote the statement based on your own life experiences, you can easily prove that the statement belongs to you and that you are indeed the author. It comes down to how comfortable you are with the person you choose to send your statement to. I got my friends and co-workers to read mine, but I also got Skrumpy to read it because he's made some very insightful posts on this forum. I'm just thankful that he took the time out of his busy schedule to help me out... 🙂 Also, as Austin Powers would put it... "I ALSO like to live my life dangerously." :naughty:

Do you guys think it's worth mentioning about extracurricular n other experience more than my background n ambition n understanding of pharmacy in the essay? The space is limited n it seems i gotto take one approach.
