how long are some of your essays are? i've read samples ranges anywhere from 450 -1000+ words, i just don't want to make it too long or too short. any help is appreciated
mine was 745 words. make sure you copy / paste your personal statement the box on aadsas to see if it is going to fit-- then modify accordingly, because I dont remember if the word count on that thing was exact.
Does the 'essay' refer to the personal statement int eh AADSAS application? If so, what is the topic that we're supposed to write about? THere arne't any instructions. 😳 Thanks.
from what i remember from last year, you have to look carefully though the instruction booklet that is online with the application. for each group of questions, it has a set of instructions. for the personal statement section, it tells you what the topic is. it was something like "why do you want to be a dentist?" i think.
Just finished my statement, 837 words. Does anyone know what criteria Microsoft words uses to count words?
And don't you think the longer the essay, to more boring it gets to those people that read the assays? I never enjoyed reading somebody else's writing, unless it's a book.
Mine was ~994 words...it was tough to trim it down to the limit!
I don't think that long essays will necessary mean that they are boring. It is only boring if you keep rambling on about something that you have said previously or something that might not interest the reader. However, if you have interesting stories to tell or important information that you want to express then by all means, use as much words as needed to convey your information to them.
