Is there a specific state that you're applying to ? Different states face different issues and if you are aiming for one state that has that one issue it may be helpful to be more specific than mentioning a problem that everyone in the country is facing. 90% of applicants would say something like that and go on to explain dead obvious reasons why it's a problem. You could mention it, but focus on problems SPECIFIC to pharmacy, and if you're applying mostly schools that are in one specific state, then let me know what state it is and I'll give you a few options to think about in your writings.

Unless you are a software developer or other "computer wiz", because in that case you may want to talk about the trend towards more Informatics Pharmacists.
