I'm about to sit down and begin writing my personal statements for my applications to the postbac programs at Harvard, Columbia and NYU and I am wondering if anyone has any tips? Should this be treated like an undergraduate admissions essay, with a focus on a single event? Or should I literally just speak directly about my career goals? I'm just worried it might come off a little dry. Any ideas?

Focus on why medicine, and why now. Post-bac programs like people who show a passion for medicine, even if they are changing careers. Best show examples such as prior volunteer experience.

Like Jedi said, why medicine (esp important if your'e non-traditional), why now, what experiences have motivated you to follow this route, why *insert program/school, how will this program help get you where you want to go, etc. Support each with real life experiences, preferably those that you have "legitamite" evidence backing up such as LOR from individuals with authority.
