Hi everyone,
I am planning to apply for a PharmD program and I was thinking of using the EssayEdge service for my personal statement since I'm a bad writer..can you guys please let me know the names of the editors that are really good for pharmacy school personal statements...i need someone who can really make a lot of changes, reword and make it much better since i'm a bad writer...thank you soo much in advance

On top of this board, there is a sticky thread for PS editing. Do note that we will not rewrite the PS in our own words as that would compromise the integrity of the admissions process as well as the purpose of your personal statement. Of course, we will point out poorly written sentences and offer suggestions. When I reword sentences, I only clean up the grammar and wordiness but not the message of that sentence.

Like was side before me, you can message any of us who offer our time to help. But I must add, I frown upon using services like Essay Edge. The way you write should convey your communication skills, to some point, which are crucial in the pharmacy career. To have someone "edit your pharmacy statement to perfection", and it isn't you or a friend who can proofread...idk.... it doesn't sit well with me.

Be forewarned - most schools require an impromptu writing sample at the face to face interview. If you turn in a PS that is not written by you, it may or may not be evident by simple comparison. The writing portion of the interview session was created specifically for this reason. Both the original essays, along with your writing sample are added to your file - and that is what goes before the admission's committee. If you write horribly - but your PS reads like a Nobel prize, it could have dire consequences.

Instead of paying someone to do it - take your time and write one yourself. Then have it edited at your school's writing center - Utilize the PS thread in this forum for proofreading, or perhaps one of your close friends. Trust me when I tell you a lack-luster PS will not keep you out of school. One of my essays I wrote over a 4 week period. The other I wrote in a single hour. It didn't matter for me, and it most likely wont matter for you either.

Good :luck:
