essential freeware for pda's?
Started by Yogi Bear
I found the following programs to be useful, and put them on my Palm Zire71. They are all free. When I can scrape together a few more bucks I?ll put the 5 Minute Clinical Consult on there too.
1. Epocrates: (download at www.epocrates.com) which has everything you ever wanted to know about any drug. Epocrates description (from a pocketpc website, but the palmpilot program is the same)
http://www.medicalpocketpc.com/articles/review_epocrates.shtml
2. Eponyms: Basically 1000+ eponyms with descriptions
http://eponyms.net/eponyms.htm
3. Kaplan Pharm Deck (Pharm flashcards) and Qbank to Go (100 questions)
http://www.kaptest.com/repository/t...nd_Services/Free_Services/ME_step1_palms.html
4. Diagnosaurus (Free differential diagnoses for 1000+ Sx for your PDA)
http://books.mcgraw-hill.com/medical/diagnosaurus/index.html
5. More resources if you want ?em

I bought a 256MB card for $90.00. I have everything listed above, plus some mp3's and pictures. I have used a little more than half of my memory. If you don't have an expansion slot you're sorta screwed.

yeah..that's the problem i ran to when looking for software. seems like very few free stuff. if anyone knows of a product, please post a direct link rather than just casually mentioning a name. thanks.
For massive amounts of free medical PDA software:
http://www.bearshare.com/
Download and install the Bearshare software. Type "Medical PDA" or other search terms into the search box.
There will be hundreds of files. There are bundles of PDA software also. These you will have to download and then expand. 90% of the software is useless crap but there are some gems.
Also, be careful not to leave Bearshare running for days on end and have Virus software running when you use it.(just it case)
