I'm looking for a comprehensive list of qualities or skills that are necessary to be a physician. One of my letter writers has asked for this and I am not finding anything on the aamc site. Does anyone have links to such a list (either from a governing body, or from specific schools that have a particularly good list)?
Thanks!

Thanks for the input guys. 😛 I'm pretty sure this prof wants an "official" list (not sure that exists) published by the big dogs, and not a list that I might have written myself. Will try and find something for him, if not I'll be using the tidbits I find on here!😀

4) knows how to use google and wikipedia
5) honesty - i.e. admits that s/he has personal goals for pursuing medicine, other than empathy, compassion, and "wanting to help people" (and the countless other BS reasons premeds use). Let's admit it, even strippers help people (arguably in a more immediate way than doctors do)
6) patience
7) curiosity
8) can't see themselves doing anything else

How clever. I did search google but didn't find anything from a governing body like aamc, just individual articles that apparently are not what my prof wants.
