I volunteered in a hopsital, and I estimated around 150 hours, but I don't know the exact. So, if I over-estimated the hours, will the admissions look down on that? Or should I just put a less number than I estimated?

It's fairly unlikely that a school will really look up your number of volunteer hours; they don't have time to check every EC on every one of thousands of applications.

That said, make your best, good-faith estimate of the time you put into an EC. For one, it's the ethical thing to do, and for two, it's gonna look weird if you grossly exaggerate your experience and then can't talk about it in an interview.

thanks!!! much appreciated 🙂

They probably won't look up your hours, yeah definitely do your best to estimate your total hours. Ethics is a huge reason why, it's the right thing to do.

They won't have the time to check it, so you'll be okay.

Yup, they won't check. Just get a ball park range.

^^^ though make the ball park a bit narrow..hehe...

an old friend of mine put lik 300 hours where he had a little over 200...lol.... then when they asked him how many hrs a week he had done it and when he started .. the adcom guy quickly counted up and said 300 couldnt have been possible at a rate of 4hrs/week and 6 months....

luckily.. my friend is full of wits and he pulled of an acceptance... @ the school (HMS)

300 hours is a lot of time.. That's almost two months of a full-time job.
