Can anybody plz give me an estimate as to how long would i hav to work for as a dentist to pay back the huge amount of dental loan. is there a duration of like 20 yrs to pay off ur loan? also, like after working for 2 or 3 yrs would i b able to pay off all my loans or not. the thing is i have no idea if the loans have a duration of 10/20/30 years to b paid off. im asking this because just incase if my co signer asks me that how long do u think u wil take to pay off ur loans so i shud hav a clear cut answer for him.

that depends on wat duration n interest rate u get from the bank, which inturn depends on ur co-signers credit history.
its always better to take a long term fixed rate loan so that u can pay off slowly while saving enough money to invest in other things (home, cars, furthur education)..
on most loans, ur co-signer can be relieved after 3-4 yrs of timely payments and subject to u getting a green card.
if u have a 25 yr loan ur monthly EMI for an expensive college may come to arnd 1000$ which isn't much considering wat u'll earn.
