i'm sure i should know this (i think)...but where is estrogen produced in men. i know in adipose androgens are aromatized to make estrogen...but what about in skinny men ie Klinefelter's..they have increased estrogen...but they're slim. is it the liver? or do the increased FSH/LH increase aromatase activity? any help would be great. thanks!

i'm sure there is a more sophisticated answer, but in the case of Klinefelter's syndrome, there is an increase in FSH due to the decrease of inhibin (normally causes negative feedback on FSH) from testicular atrophy. The increase in FSH causes an increase in aromatase production, which then converts testosterone to estradiol.

hope that helps
