Ethers could potentially receive a hydrogen bond but not donate one as they don't have a hydrogen that is bonded to an oxygen atom. So ether wouldn't hydrogen bond with other molecules of itself like an alcohol for example. So mixed with something else you could potentially see H bonding, but on it's own ethers won't hydrogen bond.

That's why the boiling point of alcohol > ether
 
ethers can undergo H-bonding right? I had literally just got done reading that in EK, but i missed that question in aamc9... -.-

also don't forget that diethyl ether is largely not miscible with water. (solvent extraction)

That comes from the fact that ether tends to not to have an O-H to hydrogen bond back to the waters. Also, there is a ratio of C:O of 4:1 which makes it more "organic" and less "aqueous."
