Other is fine.My parents were born in Morocco and immigrated to the US. I am North African, and I was wondering if I should put other or something else?
Also, I know some people in my case put white + African American. Is that a better description? @gyngynMy parents were born in Morocco and immigrated to the US. I am North African, and I was wondering if I should put other or something else?
That gives the impression that they are mixed race. Also, I know some people in my case put white + African American. Is that a better description? @gyngyn
NopeAlso, I know some people in my case put white + African American. Is that a better description? @gyngyn
It’s an explicitly incorrect description per the classification system. It’s using the census classifications which explicitly group MiddleEast/ North Africans as white. Also, I know some people in my case put white + African American. Is that a better description? @gyngyn
African american refers to the ethnicities native to west, central, and Southern Africa.
Even though Morocco is technically Africa. Morrocans aren’t counted as African american under this system.
Your only honest options are choosing not to say a race or “white”.
