Hey guys

I was wondering how to go about thanking an emergency medicine program that I rotate with? Is it acceptable to send a standard email thanking them for the opportunity to rotate with them? Or do students do something more, or nothing at all?
Thanks for your input.

I think I wrote a thank you note to the med student director. I also wrote one to the coordinator/admin who helped organize things.

I just thanked them in person before I left. Didn't send any letters/emails until interview season rolled around.

A written thank you note is not necessary after your rotation - just remember to verbally thank your Clerkship Director for offering you the opportunity to rotate and, as mentioned, above, maybe a shout out to the admin in Student Affairs who assisted you in getting the rotation set up. A smile, a 'thank you" and a hand shake help people feel appreciated!

Aren't you a program director? You need to post more. Why don't you weigh in more on some of the more lively threads?

I didn't even do an away at my #1 and wrote hand written stationary "thank you's" to each interviewer, PD, and program coordinator. It was a total kiss ass move and I have no idea if they were ever read or not but hey.... I matched there so it obviously didn't hurt.
