ETSU Interview and Interviews in general

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
When I interviewed there, I'd say that the majority of people had other people come with them, mostly parents. If you want to bring a support team with you, feel free. I went alone and was fine. Its just a matter of preference. I thought I could be more focused without my parents there.

What was your interview like @ ETSU? Was it open or closed file? I am interviewing there next week. Thanks!

It was sort of closed file. They had my file with them, but had not read it, and did not look it at all during my interview. They told me that if there was anything I felt I needed to "explain" about my transcript, scores, experience, etc, I should take the initiative and tell them, because they would not be looking at it until afterward. The interview itself is an hour long, but my time flew by, I didn't think it was that bad at all. One of my interviewers was pretty chill, the other was a bit more task-oriented and tried to keep the other one in line. 🙂

Ther's also a group activity/discussion with pharmacy students and other applicants, as well as a tour/lunch etc.

Its totally low-key there, everyone is super-friendly, just be yourself. Also, have a good spiel ready on why you want to go to ETSU/stay in the rural southern Appalachian area. They will definitely ask you about your long-term plans, if you plan to stay in the area, etc.

Good luck!
