STATEMENT: In eukaryotes, each gene has their own transcription initiation site.

Wouldn't alternative splicing technically make this false?

Nope, a gene is a sequence of nucleotide and Alternative Splicing refers to changes in gene products (mainly mRNA in this case). Also RNA have no promoters, or enhancers , and even transcription binding sites. And because Eukaryote mRNA are monocistronic, i would tend to believe it's true one gene one mRNA (hnRNA which can then be spliced into variants) but even then each mRNA will still give you one protein.

Thank you very kindly!
