Ever suspect that adcoms scour SDN pre-med forums to ID users and decided which ones to reject? I know it's a paranoia but I wonder if anyone else felt this 🙂. I think most SDN'ers felt this at least once.

No, unless you post identifying information (picture, name of undergrad, etc.), they would not be able to figure out who you are so it would be a waste of time.

No. I've been an SDN member since freshman year because I knew I wanted to do something medical though. I'm in my gap year. I took a couple of years off after graduation.

Who knows. Maybe SDN has an agreement with medical schools where faculty can demand profile identification. Haha I kid. It's just a funny paranoia I've had

Adcoms barely have time to process my application, I doubt they have time to creep on SDN and try to match students to the literal thousands of applications they get.

Tbh I'm 80% sure my SDN lurker friend has identified me, it would be pretty easy to do for someone who knows me personally and knows I'm on SDN, so I try to make sure I act pretty much the same online. Despite this, the Internet sometimes brings out too much of my snark.

Unless you talk way too much about very specific personal things I don't think that's too much of an issue.
But it's always a good idea to change a few personal details online to prevent anything like this.

You're a fool if you don't think Admissions deans look at SDN.
One SDNer wrote to me of a polite warning s/he got after questioning something about the school on SDN.
Most SDNERS have enough common sense not to go loose cannon here, to the extent that they'd be ea S ily identifiable.

The beauty of SDN is that half of posts are replied with the original post in quotations, so that even if you delete your message, it's clone stays forever in the succeeding reply. Muahaha.
