I don't want to sound like a jerk, but are any of you people ever get mad of easy final?

I mean I studied the entire week without doing anything else, and the final ends up being complilation of questions from previous exams word for word.

The final was a joke, and I am mad that I studied like an ass for a test that took me less than 20 minutes to fill in the bubbles.

conversely if you hadn't studied, you would be thinking to yourself "OMG I GOT SO LUCKY. ALL THE QUESTIONS ARE THINGS I ALREADY KNOW."
It's difficult to imagine the scenario where you don't study, get the test, and think to yourself this seems fair.

The only bad tests are tests so easy that everybody does well and the standard deviation is a few points.

I don't think I'd but it so harshly, however I do agree that the purpose of a class is to gain intelligence, not merely pass, well at least it should be.

It's not like anything we learn in undergrad is that important.

I feel ya on this one OP... I've had this very same feeling.... not mad that the final was easy, but mad that I wasn't efficient in my studying. But in the end I'm just thankful to have done well in the class.

More or less.
My human biology final was supposed to be 2 hours long and I ended up wrapping it up in half an hour with 99% of my answers I am absolutely certain of. There was some discontent about having studied the entirety of the material over and over again (I know pretty much everything that's written in our 150-pages long notebook by heart now) and being tested only for about 30% of it all, but at the same time I was happy to know all those things and to have studied them well enough for them to be deeply seated in my memory.

In the end, how difficult the finals are doesn't really matter. The important is to have learned something from what you've studied and to be able to apply it afterwards somehow.

All of you make valid points, and I agree that you are taking class for the gain of personal knowledge.

However, I don't have to attend an institution to do that.

The main point of attending a college is not only to gain knowledge, but also to be given a challenge and doing much more beyond the simple level of gaining knowledge.

I find it offensive that I used up my time and energy for something that does not even close to a challenge.

Moreover, testing memorizing skills of previous tests do nothing to increase your knowledge either.

Although I may receive good grade, it is paradoxical that I feel to no sense of satisfaction, and I am disappointed.

Ah, the never ending debate of life lessons vs college. Man, that ones been going on forever.

Also, my /sarcasm tags were left off my other post, didn't mean to come across harsh, my sense of humor gets lost via text. Just take everything I say as sarcasm and we'll be cool.

Although I've never been mad the final was stupid, at least it wasn't something crazy and I got through it easily.

I wish I have that kind of final exam.🙁

The OP benefited from learning the material so well even though the final was easy. However, it would be unfortunate if the OP's extra studying took away from studying for a class that had a harder final.

lol...just wait till you get to med school...ohhhhhhhhh..."ohhhhhhh yes kiddies...take time to learn the material and let it marinate while we throw another semesters worth of material at you over the next couple of days" 🙄:meanie:

What generally bugs me more is when the professor puts special emphasis on something like it is going to be on the final and it isn't. That happened to me in two of my finals, so yea, I wasted some serious study time for nothing.

Another thing that bugs me is when there is material on the final that was not in the book nor taught in class. Yes, that happened too believe it or not.

Never has happened to me for a final, but for a test, most definitely yes...although I probably wouldn't admit this in person because I might get physically harmed.

HA! This was like half of my inorganic final.

I totally agree with the OP. I just studied all week for a test I thought would be hard, and annihilated it because it was so easy. I didn't have that kind of time to just throw away. I left myself one day to get ready for another final, and when I walked into that one I got decapitated. I'm so annoyed I couldn't sleep past 530am... this is just wrong haha.

Oh boo hoo, man. Something like this has happened to most everyone. Just accept it and move on. This is so irrelevant to the big picture...if you have mastered all the material then you've accomplished what you set out to do. So what if the cumulative was easy, as long as YOU learned the material.

My chemistry final was just like the exams and it even had a 25% bonus section at the end. I loved it because he had never offered bonus material before.

Ha. Yeah that happened in my orgo final...I think my professor said we were going to have to determine the structure of a molecule from its NMR spectrum on our final....never did have to do that....not complaining though.😀

Kind of. I spent around 14-16 hours every day from Saturday to Monday studying for the Gen Bio I finals only to show up on the test and see just 25 questions. I was out of there in 10 minutes.

Thanks.

I don't think I'd ever be mad about that. It kind of goes both ways. If you didn't study and the final was easy, you'd obviously be happy.

Yeah... If I over studied for a final I was just happen I did well. It's not a big deal really. But then again I've never studied a whole week for any test in my life. I usually study a couple days before hand a couple hours a day... that's always been enough for me to remember what I needed.

would you rather have been dominated by an insanely hard final, despite your best efforts to prepare? I'm never mad when this happens because in the situation, I'm getting exactly what I deserve: I studied my ass off, now I'm getting an A.
