I think as long as you apply to a bunch of DO schools, your going to get in eventually. I have not heard a single story of someone who was rejected from every DO school they applied to and had to wait for another cycle. If you go allo, its much easier to get rejected from every school you apply too, but if you go to DO i find that same instance unlikely.

ANY COMMENTS?

With for-profit Caribbean schools opening DO branch campuses on US soil with the blessing of COCA and the AOA, in another decade a well dressed chimpanzee will be able to go to DO school.

Do you have a point with this post or are you trying to stir stuff up?

i am giving confidence to those that have yet to hear anything? i believe that as long as you apply before january to several schools, someone even with a 22 MCAT and 3.1 GPA will get in somewhere. I thought SDN was about harmless discussion?

I predict a ban before this day is done.

a ban for what? making a harmless statement. I swear i feel like christopher columbus telling you all that the world is round, but u insist on saying its square. Ya'll are so closeminded.

So you have 4 posts to your name OP. And already you choose to stir up crap? I smell a previously banned poster.

This post has the potential of shrinking other's feelings of accomplishment. Everyone in here has worked hard to get into med school. Yes I have heard of people being rejected from each and every school they applied to.

i smell someone who is in loser denile.......which is pretty much everyone on the pre-osteo forum :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: (except me of course cuz im about to banned)

With my 33 MCAT and 2.7 GPA, I have gotten little more love from DO schools than I did from MD schools last time. Luckily, I've been accepted this time around, but it hasn't been easy.

Evan peeple hoo spel denial lyke denile cann ghet intwo ostoeoptathik medikal skool!

I don't see what the problem is, it is easier to get into DO schools because there are fewer applicants to the DO schools as compared to applicants who apply MD.

About ~40% of people who apply to MD schools matriculate.
About ~40% of people who apply to DO schools matriculate.

The fact is, 40% of 10 people is 4 people.
40% of 100 people is 40 people.

But, as you can see, for every 4 people who get into DO schools , there are 6 people who don't.

But for every 40 people who get in to MD schools, there are 60 people who don't.

60 people is alot compared to 6 people, so it seems that there are alot of rejections from MD schools and not many rejections from DO schools.

Haha, your logic is infallible!

so ur saying that 40% of MD applicants matriculate. THOSE NUMBERS ARE SO WRONG. I think the number is more like 10%. and your DO number is more like 90% that apply and matriculate. The other 10% dont choose DO cuz those are the ones that use DO as a backup to MD, since MD is SO MUCH BETTER. 🙂

your numbers dont say anything about percentages of getting in to A DO SCHOOL from the general appl pool. Find me actualy stats where it says that the number of DO's that APPLY into the general application pool matriculate, and I will let you suck my _____.

tex, with a 2.7 gpa obvioulsy that shows you cant handle the coursework of undergrad. How do u expect to PASS medical school if you couldnt even get above a B- as an undergrad. It doesnt matter if you get a 100% on your boards, you still have to PASS the medical school course tests. based on your gpa, i think you have your work cut out for you.
