I am concerned about the EVMS Medical Masters program and the MCAT. It is stated that the MCAT cutoff for the Med Masters program is 23, but the mean MCAT required by the MD program at EVMS is 30.
I am strongly considering the Med Masters program, but I am worried that my MCAT scores are not strong enough for the MD program, even though they technically meet the cutoff for the Med Masters program. I wrote the MCAT twice this past summer, achieving a 28S in July, but dropping to a 24R in September. Does anyone know if the most recent scores are the only scores considered? Or would they accept my highest score?
Are people with lower MCAT scores actually accepted into the Med Masters program? Would these people be expected to re-write the MCAT in order to have a decent chance for the MD program?
Thanks for any replies.
