my interview at evms starts at 10am, but i'm planning to get there by 8am. so i was just wondering if there is a place in evms campus (library or some other building) where I would have wifi access.
for those of you, who drove to EVMS, where did you guys park and how much did you pay for it?
Same question also for VCU: if they wifi access anywhere near their interview building and where do I park during the time of interivew?
FOR VCU/MCV
The parking deck is where they tell you to park.
To parking deck
Coming From the north on 95 take exit 74C: get off the exit and you will be on Broad St.
From the south on 95 take 74C, make a right onto broad st:
From broad st, go up to 11th street and make a right. Continue for 2 blocks and at that second intersection you will make a right (clay st). Go 1 block make a left . You will see signs for the parking deck but if you dont it will be on the right about 1/2 block after you made the left.
To get to the interview from the parking deck:
Go to the elevator bank and take it up to the 8th floor. Follow the signs toward the "main hospital" and enter the main hospital (may be called the gateway building) which will be around 1-2 blocks from the parking deck. When you enter the main hospital/gateway building, on the left will be escalators and In front of you will be a help desk type thingy. If you dont see all this you walked into the wrong building. Anyway there will be doors to the outside diagonally to your right. Go out those and you will be at the valet kiosk (also a good option for parking, it's 5 bucks). Across the street is a 12 floor tall gray building. That is
sanger hall where your interview is. Enter sanger hall and your interview will be on the first floor directly to your left (just past a help desk). For those who like mapquest: sanger hall is at 11th and marshall.
If you want to valet it is on 12th and marshall and not a bad option considering it is pretty cheap and right across the st from the interview building. You can mapquest it if needed.
In every building on campus that I have tried there is wifi. Unfortunately you need a to use your student ID + a password to access it so you probably wont be able to access the internet. All desktop computers on campus also require that you input this student ID plus your password.
the waiting room is in the cozy little admissions office, separate from any other areas where strange people may be coming and going. So your laptop will be safe there. Mr. Kenyon (i think that's his name) is a SUPER nice guy and will probably hold it in his office for you if you ask (he may even offer to hold it for you before you even ask! 😉 ).
Mr Kenyon will be happy to take care of your stuff but it should be safe in the interviewee room which is in the back of admissions office.
