Hi all,

Were any EVMS students able to get by without a car? I read from a few people here that there is an LGM program that usually necessitates you getting a car. Is there a way around this?

My main goal here is avoid that burden and expense.

Thanks in advance!

Not a student, but lived in Hampton Roads for 95% of my life.

I would say it'd be extremely challenging getting by without a car. The Public transportation system is not the greatest. Having a car gives you way more flexibility. Where are you planning on living in relation to the school?

You will definitely need a car for rotations since they can send you anywhere in Hampton Roads... You could get stuck doing a rotation in Williamsburg! Evms allots nearly $3600 for transportation so it seems like having a car is necessary.

I was planning on living as close as I can to campus, so ideally the Ghent neighborhood.

Oh well, c'est la vie - looks like I'll have to find a car for 3600 on craigslist. Good times!

Thanks for the heads up, womanofscience.
