The Sentara Leigh Breast Center in conjunction with Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA has an unexpected opening for fellowship in breast imaging and intervention for 2017-2018 academic year starting July 1, 2017.
2018-2019 position has been filled.
We are currently not participating in the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) Fellowship Match Program. Please apply directly as per information below.
Applicant should be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology.
The fellowship includes training in screening and diagnostic digital mammography, 3D digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, along with image guided interventions using stereotactic, sonographic, and MRI guidance. The fellowship includes active Multidisciplinary conference participation and also includes rotations through surgery, pathology, plastics and radiation oncology. There is no night or weekend call duty. Research opportunities are also available to those with research interests. The fellow is supervised by dedicated breast fellowship trained radiologists.
An all-digital facility, the center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and recently received the platinum level Patient's Choice Award for patient satisfaction.
The Breast Center has earned the ACR Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence (BICOE) accreditation. The Center is accredited by the National Accreditation Program of Breast Centers (NAPBC).
