hahaaa..didnt go too well obviously...but if i gave up everytime someone criticized my gpa, i wouldnt be an MCAT gchem and ochem instructor for the princeton review or a published author either. constant vigilance

so the chances are 'close to nil', but the waitlist is 'a great place to be' and theres been movement all the way to number 40 last year, and only 35 on the waitlist this year. i figure even if i'm 35/35 on the waitlist...considering the movement in years past, i still got a shot...but apparantly not according to them.

Was she talking about overall gpa? So far I have gotten into BU and UMDNJ but still waiting for Drexel response and EVMS waiting list, it is getting to be a ridiculously long wait and every time I call the admissions there is no info to be had
i just dont un derstand why there hasnt been any movement when people have withdrawn and why they are being so secretive about it...maybe they have accepted from the waitlist, but those people dont go on sdn

hey sgod..take what they say with a grain of salt...i was told a few times that i was in the upper 1/3, but alas...bottom half was the truth. they were just looking at my mcat and assuming i was up there without actually looking at the list (after speaking w/ dr meyer). call them up, see what they say, because we can only speculate.

hey guys...just to let you know i withdrew my acceptance at 9am this morning and i hope one of ya'll gets it. although, mmadnes it looks like you may have and i hope that's the case. either way, i hope to see all of you at EVMS this fall because i was lucky enough to get off the MD program waitlist. good luck.

If you are going to EVMS next year or were there this past year where did you guys live or where are you living next year? I went down to norfolk today to only find out THERE ARE NO 1BEDROOM APARTMENTS AVAILABLE anywhere! anyone have any advice?

Unfortunately, you probably wont be able to log onto sinapse until orientation starts, but call the technical department and see if they can help you out. They handle all the username and password stuff as well as wireless connections for laptops.

i called last week and they said i moved into the top 5 on the list, but that doesnt mean much really...i just hope more people reject there acceptance but i'm worried not that much movement happens this late into the summer

i just put a deposit down on a place at the Bristol today. they are absolutely amazing apartments about a 10 min walk from school. kind of on the expensive side, but definitely worth it. give them a call an ask for Anette if you are interested, she's really cool. i'll be an M1 at evms next year so if you have any questions, pm me.

Has anybody received their financial aid award letter? I was told a while back that they would be sent mid June but when I was in Norfolk at the very end of June they said they hadn't sent them out yet... and still don't have it. I am anxiously awaiting its arrival so I can prove my income and get the place to live at which I currently have an application pending.

and yes I do believe that orientation is Aug 14. Does anybody have any idea when classes start? When I called about the financial aid award letter I also asked about the schedule and they said it could be as late as the end of July early August before they finalized it. I was just wondering if anybody had heard anything to the contrary.

They said there might be a few slots opening up in the near future and they are calling the people who are high on the waiting list to see if they are still interested. 👍
She also said that I would be hearing from them within the week.

I already paid a $600 deposit for another SMP program at a very prestigious school, and I would hate to just have to eat that $600. But right now it's just speculation, I haven't been offered a seat and I still might not be so I don't want to get my hopes up just to have them dashed. I'll cross that bridge if and when I come to it.

A Question for current or accepted EVMSers:
Have any of you run into any Canadians accepted to the MS program? I'm currently attending a top 15 school here in the US, and was interested in applying to EVMS for the master's, and perhaps later on to the med school, but I'm not sure if they accept Canadians (either program). Any information would be much appreciated.

I just can't turn down EVMS. You take medical school classes and it has the BEST linkage percentage of any SMP since Rosalind Franklin did away with their AP program. It's pretty much a guaranteed med school acceptance as long as you do well in the program, and the best part, NO GLIDE YEAR!
