It is competitive, based on the fact that they have one of the lowest tuition rates, even for out of state students. I went to EWU as an undergrad and didn't even get wait-listed. I had a stellar GPA and a lot of observation hours. Their facility is pretty nice, excellent cadaver lab. Although, UPS has a brand new health science building that is state-of-the-art. EWU has a good reputation in WA, but so does UW and UPS. It's in the heart of Spokane, which is nice. I met a couple faculty members and they stressed how important the students learning is vs. research, whereas UW is all about research. EWU was my first choice because of their tuition, but if they were the same price as UPS and UW my preference would change. As mentioned earlier, EWU has no in-state preference, nor do they give preference to their undergrads.
