Hello!

I have heard that MCAT scores last for 3 years for "most" schools. But I have also heard that MCAT scores last for 2 years for some schools. How do I find out exactly how long they last for each school? Is there a comprehensive list somewhere?

Right now I am a rising senior and took my MCAT in April of 2011. The scholarship I am applying to runs 2 years from Fall 2012-Fall2014. I am planning on applying to medical school during the scholarship during June of 2013.

will my MCAT score still be able to be used?

This thread is detailed ad nauseam just recently. Almost every school requires the MCAT to be taken in the past 3 years, with shades of gray. The tome you seek? The MSAR!

You know... I threw my MSAR out a few months ago. Is that info even in there? I could swear that's one you had to go trolling the individual school websites for. Either way, you can usually find a school's MCAT policies on their website.

As of the current cycle, there are some schools that will accept scores as old as 2007 (< 5, if that), about 60 will accept scores from 2008 on (although some specify September 2008), and the remainder of schools will accept scores 2009 on. These are very rough numbers.

For exact numbers, by a copy of the msar and go through each school's requirements.

Keep in mind schools may change their requirements from year to year.

There are a fair number that will take 2008. Enough to make applying worth it if you have a 4-year old MCAT.

It is easy to find using the online MSAR.

Online MSAR = $15

Easier to search and compare schools.
