Just wondering if anyone who has used the examcrackers materials has received a 30+

I just ordered the materials and i have been using them to study BUt the books seem to me to be brief in comparison to Kaplan and TPR. Are there practice mcats any good?

I found them to be are excellent rescources. I used Audio Osmosis, 1001 questions, & review books. I found them to be remarkably useful.
I would, however, point out that by asking for feedback only from people who did relatively well will give you skewed results. Good Luck

My study group for the April 04 had 3 folks. One did just Kaplan course - 38 - but he's a friggin genius. The other got a 32, using Kaplan and EK. I took 2 or 3 AAMC tests with my own study strategies; I did not do well. I ended up with a 29 on the real deal, which was a 4-6 point jump over the pre-EK AAMC practice tests. I think tha Physics and Chem were especially well done.

Good luck with it.

I used ExamKrackers and got a 38L. I didn't have the audio osmosis or the 1001 books. I did have the booklet by Kaplan with two practice MCATS, but my studying was strictly EK. I also had cliff notes on Chemistry and Physics. Which were pretty helpful. The EK practice exams are a little harder than AAMC and Kaplan, or they're scaled harder because I got a lower score on the EK test compared to the AAMC test when I didn't study for the AAMC test, and then studied for a months before taking the EK test.

EK is a good starting point to get the basics in your head. I didn't use just EK - but reviewed textbooks as well, and took a lot of practice tests. - 32Q

April 04 MCAT: PS: 11, BS: 12, VR: 11 Total: 34

I used the EK books for studying. Really liked them (especially since
I was a biochem/microbiology double major and some stuff was review).
I also purchased the AAMC practice tests. I cannot stress enough that
doing as many practice exams as possible is the way to go. You get
used to the timing, question style, etc. So my recommendations would
be the EK books (and osmosis if you can afford) and practice tests galore.

August: 10, 10, 10 Q just used examkrackers audio osmosis, and 5 book series along with the aamc exams. Can't really go wrong with them imo

EK is awesome studied 2-3 hours a week while taking 10 credits during the summer using EK and 101 verbal. Finished each section with enough time to take a 15 min nap and got a 27M. If I would have put in as much time as a friend of mine who studied about 4-5 hours a day then I might have gotten much higher but hey I was expecting a 22 so I'll take the 27 any day

I used the examkrackers 1001 questions (biology, chemistry, organic, physics) plus the verbal reasoning book. They were great because they really made me actively involve myself in the material, instead of just reading over stuff. I brought up my score from a 27 to a 34 (10 in physical science, 11 in biological science and 13 in verbal reasoning). I wish I had found the examkrackers books sooner so I would have had more time to study with them!

Used mostly all EK texts and the CDs (which I didnt find all that helpful) and got a 37. The princeton review hyperlearning book is also good if you have the time.

7 years out of college from China, a fulltime job, English as second language, no prep class. I used only EK CD and EK books, and got a 39 in April. Can't be wrong with EK.

www.examkrackers.com

Search on eBay because you can get it for a better price than purchasing directly from examkrackers.com. Walmart and Amazon are currently out of stock for the EK complete study package.

I have all of the Examkrackers stuff - complete study package, 1001 series, EK practice tests, etc. They helped me to get a 30 this past August, so I won't be needing them anymore. Everything is in excellent condition, no markings or highlights whatsoever.

PM me if you are interested in taking this stuff off my hands. I'll give you a good deal.

EK spends time giving you tips and tricks to beating the MCAT. I used exam krackers, and with exception of the Verbal section, was really surprised to see how little the actual test was geared toward what they said it would be.

For example, they spend a lot of timetelling you things you should look for on the MCAT - like the answer to any solvent question is "ether".
Well, I didn't use any of their tips or tricks on the actual MCAT, because the MCAT doesn't test tricks. it tests the core basics and intricacies you can only know through mastery of the material.

Does EK help you get there - you bet it does. But does it go about it the right way? Sadly no.

I'm sure the MCAT writers are well aware of the programs out there and what they say about the MCAT, and they design the test to avoid giving advantages to anyone who subscribes to any training group.

That being said, the mastery of the information, which is only added by EK can only help you. Just don't pay too much attention to the gimmicks and the heads ups. Listen to the substance, and absorb the meat of the information. For that, I will highly recomend their material and their tapes.

I read voraciously everything I could find, and got a 32. Use EK to get a grip on the information. Don't think it will give you everything you need to know, though.

Good luck!
