Anyone use Examkrackers as a study tool for the PCAT? Products of interest:
1) Examkrackers 101 Passages in MCAT Verbal Reasoning
2) Examkrackers MCAT Audio Osmosis with Jordan and Jon [AUDIOBOOK]
3) Examkrackers MCAT Verbal Reasoning & Mathematical Techniques
4) Examkrackers Mcat Complete Study Package

In conjunction with these products, I would use the Kaplan's PCAT study guide to supplement with practice exams.
Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions.
I have almost 4 months to refresh.

I used all of that. However, get something else for math as the math treatment by Examkrackers suck. Also, the biology guide is overkill for the PCAT but can be effective if you think within the scope of underclassman biology courses.

I used my EK books for the PCAT and got a 76% composite as a 1st time PCAT taker. The EK bio is indeed detailed and meticulous, but you will rock PCAT bio knowing EK MCAT bio. I used Kaplan PCAT book for math and 1000 common SAT words as my verbal study guide. If you are hardcore, you can study everything in a month or even 40 days, tops!😎🙂

I think a 76% the first time would be a great score for myself since it has been a few years since I took some of these classes. Today, I ordered the EK Biology and Inorganic chem books. I also have EK audio osmosis. I have listened to the Bio section about 4 times and I can remember alot of the info. I listen to the lectures when I am doing household chores and I seem to recall the material. I am also an audio learner, so listening works really well. As soon as I get the books in, I will start studying a modified version of what EK suggest for a 10 weeks study schedule.
Once I feel confident with the books I purchased, I will go ahead and get the organic book, verbal, and 1001 questions books(possibly).

Best of luck TS. I set up a rigorous schedule for myself in Sept 2007 and finished studying MOST stuff by Oct 20th PCAT. I got a 35% in math due to the fact, I didn't have enough time to go over it and guessed the majority of stuff and plus my brain was on test overload😀, but working part-time with a 90 min. commute from NYC everyday, I could live with my score. Also, it may help if you do undergrad in the sciences (that helped majorly with the bio section)

Best of luck in everything TS

Oh, b4 I forget, you may not need to memorize EVERY SINGLE detail in the EK bio book b/c it's their thickest book and they do go into great detail. But do know the Organic chem book cold (it's their slimest book on the MCAT level)

:luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck:

Eh, I think it depends on your personal background. All I used is the Kaplan study book for 1 month and scored a 91 composite (after 4 years of being out of school). The main thing to practice is the math/sciences part. The verbal and writing portions... you either know it or you don't. Spending 4 months studying/practicing words will only improve your score by one or two points. You are much better off putting that effort into the other parts where the time spent studying will show a greater improvement in your score.

Hahaha....Yeah, I really need to start studying early. I have forgotten alot of gen chem.

BTW: I am really enjoying studying from the EK books. It is really nice to have the lecture exams in the book, color and not too much info. Salty makes things more enjoyable!

Are you using EK for the gen chem? which book is it? I'm really really rusty on my Gen Chem!

Yes...I have the 7th ed. inorganic chemistry EK book. Not to be confused with the chem 1001 questions EK book. I purchased both the chem and bio books from ebay. I received the books 2 days after ordering.

Hey, I'm new to this site, but I had a question for you. You said that you used the 1000 SAT words to study for the pcat. I'm actually using those words too to study for the pcat but I was wondering...how similar are those words to the words found on the actual pcat? did you find it useful to study for them? I'm hesitating on spending too much time memorizing those words if they won't help me much. I don't do much reading and I am not a native english speaker so I lack vocab skills as you can imagine. So did those words help you?
