Can someone upload the excel file again? The one that is up now is corrupted.

This spreadsheet is a bit outdated. Does anyone have a newer version that they would like to share?

Does anybody know the excel function he's using to create the sortable columns in the spreadsheet? sorry if that's a noob question, but I want to know how to do that.

Looks way better than the one I made. Way more colorful! I froze the panels of the school names on mine, that way I can see the school and look at the later information.

Mine also includes log-in information and website pages for the application (if it is online).

On mine, I click on the column (for example, column C you would click on the C at the top). With that selected, I go to the home tab. They have a filter/sort thing on the upper right area. Click it. Select expand selected (so it highlights everything) and then you can click Custom Sort. You can tell it what you want it to sort (alphabetically or numerically, lowest to highest or the opposite) and which column to use.

Ya, but in the file he posted each column title in the spreadsheet has a little dropdown arrow to select filter options. Is this what you're talking about too?

I have attached my application tracking spreadsheet in case anyone was interested. The result column changes based on what you have entered in the previous boxes. See the example tab for an example.

I sort of combined what I thought were the best of both spreadsheets in this thread if anybody wants a 3rd take on it. I liked the second layout better, but also like the original dropdown menus for sorting and a column for expenses. Check it out:

I like! I might add expenses to mine....and I had the sorting feature but it doesn't work well in my Mac version of word(or at least it annoys me) so I dropped it like a rock.

The function is called autofilter. That will add in the sorting and filtering functions.

Thanks, you just check on filtering, correct? I'm using Mac Office 2011, and that's all I did and it looks the same.

Thanks, definitely saving this one for 2017 application season.
