We came across this website called exchange rx. Has anyone ever heard of it? Basically its a site where independents can exchange (sell or buy) medications that we are not gonna use. Kind of like an ebay sort of thing. check them out at www.exchangerx.com

Wouldn't touch it with a 10 meter cattle prod. With all of the counterfeit drugs in circulation, I would not purchase anything on the secondary market.

I just finished up a management rotation at an independant pharmacy. My preceptor was very fond of matchrx.com, which is something very similar.

When I worked at Hy-Vee, which is a grocery chain in the upper Midwest, you'd see posts like that on the Intranet service all the time, and I also posted a list of items we weren't using, in case another store needed them.

One time, we accidentally ordered a 1,000-count bottle of Prevacid (we dispensed enough to justify having 2 x 100 in stock, and it was quite expensive at the time), I posted this on the service, and got a phone call within a half hour.

As long as the supplier is reliable, I don't think counterfeits would be a problem.
