I'm thinking about buying a bench press and bar to place the back of the or. Our cardiac room is unnecessarily large and there's a lot of space in the back. I figure while on pump I could get a good workout in. I already have a pull up bar installed and no one has complained so far. Would I be pushing the boundaries too far doing this?

lol
Why do they need you in the room if they are on pump
I mean why not just throw a whole squat rack and wall unit while you're at it?
Lmfao at when Jcaho sees this
I think depends on how much you grunt when you get swole, cuz if you’re too vocal it counts as an aerosol generating procedure

I never realized you were an orthopod.
Can’t believe it took until post #6 for an Ortho jokeI never realized you were an orthopod.
Just ask the perfusionist if you can use the hand crank during bypass. It’s especially good when you’re with a slow surgeon. Best 3 hour workout ever.
Literally 1 kettlebell instead, portable too, can take it to a low acuity room like liver txp

those 5L bags of saline work nicely as a 10# kettlebell.
Lol imagine how that call would go from the nurse to the patients family. Ah, yea, your moms knee scope went fine, but ah, she suffered a massive head injury when the anesthesiologist lost control of his kettle ball.Literally 1 kettlebell instead, portable too, can take it to a low acuity room like liver txp
That’s an interesting interpretation of “on pump”.

You can use the sandbags that neurosurgeons use to hold the head

Seriously though, do any of you guys have a gym setup around your call rooms. We've got a small area with 80lb adjustable dumbbells, treadmill, stationary bike, pullup rack.

We had a gym in residency but I never went
Just get a shake weight
We got the hospital to put one in near the locker rooms where two call rooms used to be. They knocked down the wall between and made it like a real mini-gym with a full dumbbell rack, weight machine, bench and treadmill. Project was spearheaded by an orthopod but we’re the only ones ever in there while we wait for surgeons or on in-house call.
