This is for all of you practicing dentists: are there any specific exercises that you do to either maintain or improve head/neck, back, posture, forearms, finger strength, etc.??

I always hear about everybody stretching, but not much mention of preventative weight lifting. Just curious.

Just a 2nd year dental student but since no one has chimed in, I'll tell you what I was told. Yoga is supposed to be pretty good, it will strengthen your core muscles to help stabilize everything. Probably anything that develops core strength would be a safe way to go.

Aside from the usual cardio stuff that I do for just general health, I do some basic core strengthening excerises and stretching to the back/neck in good shape. I also can't emphasize enough that practicing on a daily basis with GOOD posture is probably more important than any head/neck conditioning work you can do!
