Is there anyone from University of Missouri who can give us an inside scoop on when the 2011 Exotics Symposium will be happening??

Thanks!

I am not part of the planning this year since I will be in clinics but I believe it will be 15-16 of jan 2011. The website should be up in the next week or two.
I believe there will be speakers that specialized in tigers, elephant and marine mammals. Also, several zoo vets and possibly a Ringling Brothers vet. As of now, that is all I know. Hope it helps! I will let you know when the website is up and running.

Awesome! I can't wait! I had a great time last year and learned a lot. And Missouri is a bit closer! 🙂

Just bumping this in case anyone has any updated info! I'm super excited for this since I didn't get to go last year (stupid blizzard) and Mizzou is only a state away 🙂

Here's a bump:

Sadly I just found out about this conference so I'm having to pay the late fee. I was just curious if any of you knew if there was going to be a social night this year?

Darn, I wish it was a bit sooner in January. I had a good time at the one in Tennessee last year. :-\

I'll be there, but my car and hotel room are already full of Wisconsin students.

Excited!!

I'm really excited too! I signed up for the aquatic animal necropsy and the wildlife darting/immobilization labs.

What's the attire for the symposium? Casual with jeans and such? Business casual? or formal?

Based on last year in Tennessee (the conference switiches back and forth each year), I would say business casual. There will of course be a spectrum, but I would say that more people are on the casual end.

When you say business casual...khaki pants? or jeans and a nice shirt? Sorry for all the questions, just don't want to be out of place 😀

I always err on the side of khakis.
