Hi there, just wondering if I could get some advice on how to classify one of my activities on the AMCAS primary app. I'm currently doing a phlebotomy externship that is part of a class offered through a local college. I'm essentially just following around a senior phlebotomist and getting to do my own draws on patient's that aren't extremely difficult pokes. This experience is unpaid so I was just wondering if I should classify under the clinical employment-paid section and simply state that I wasn't paid in the description or if it would be better to put it under clinical volunteering. Just wondering if I could get some insight on how best to insert this activity, thanks!

I think it is none of the above- it is an assignment for your class. If you later get a certificate for being a qualified phlebotomist, you can mention it in your secondaries

I agree. It’s a class requirement. Nothing more nothing less. Don’t even mention it.
