Is it that recent graduates have a better chance to get into schools ?
or
old graduates ( with experience ) have a better chance ?

As i heard that "Recent graduates are easy to mould than old ones coz old grads have more experience oriented approach (more rigidity)to clinical cases, so its hard for faculty to mould "
pls post everyones honest opinion about this

hi ndb fighter
good question
i have graduated in 1989 and that makes it very clear that I am not a recent graduate
I still got admission at ucsf
in my interview which lasted like 45 minutes , they kept asking me about my experience in private practise and I think it proved a positive factor for me
so it is not that only fresh graduates get preferences, they look into your past experience and if you are a old graduate and can demonstrate your knowledge and experience during interviews , it can give you positive results
so that is my opinion, maybe the people who are fresh graduates who have got in can put some feedbacks here
good luck and I read your post , you had 88 in part 1 and were waitlisted at nyu!!!!!!!!, I hope you get in this time and wish you good luck- 👍
