On the application, you have to fill out work experience and research experience. What if I don't have both?? Do they give me less chance for admission?

I don't have both, either. I think that's fine.

i understand not everybody has research experience... but neither of you have ever worked a day in your life? no high school job? college job? summer job? it doesn't have to be dental work, but i think leaving that field blank might raise some red flags with adcoms...

make stuff up, atleast for jobs.

I didnt have any research experience, and this didnt come up at any of the 6 interviews I went to, except Univ. of Florida. It must not have been a big deal since I was accepted on Dec 1 👍 . Dont worry too much about not having research experience.

in all of your interviews, what did they mostly talk to you about?
do you mind me asking about your GPA & DAT score? if you have high grade and score, no research experience might not have an effect. thanx

dont worry.. mine is also blank 🙁

what have people been putting in there? can i get some examples please? what kind of awards have you guys been getting in college? I can understand scholarships and honor societies I guess.. is that it? 😕

if you've got decent stats you don't have to worry too much about those blank boxes. But if you've got crappy numbers and not much goingfor ya... those blanks certainlly won't help you get in.

My honors/volunteering/awards boxes were all empty. Oh yeah, Adcoms will be able to tell if your awards/etc are actually worthwhile or just padder...

You guys ('06 applicants) are such worriers.

Have some faith.

If they don't like what you have done, you should be able to live with it and learn from it.

There is nothing you can do but to wait and pray once you clicked on the "Submit".

The adcoms don't wanna see a bunch of worthless awards that mean nothing, if its worthwhile, throw it in there, if not, don't. You can easily come across as somewhat conceited and a little full of yourself having put a ton of awards that mean nothing in there.
