Hello,

My first time here 😀. I'm moving to Bradenton, FL for pharmacy school. It will be my first moving time ever. I just wonder if anyone is willing to share their moving experiences like finding houses, setting amenities, etc... I want to be able to find an affordable apartment in a safe neighborhood. What neighborhoods do you think are safe? Sarasota is ok too since it's close to Bradenton. How soon should I start looking? My school will start in August.

Another concern is that I'm currently working at Kroger chain as cert. pharm tech. Is it really hard to find an intern job at CVS or Publix (for 8-16h)? How about hospital? Which is better? I already have experiences in retail but wonder about hospital (is it less stressful?).

Please, if you know any information, please share. I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

You might try renting a room out of someone's house rather than an apartment. Cheaper and nicer. Just a thought. I like my classmates but I am not sure I would enjoy living with them.

Hospital is less stressful in general, though like anything else there are exceptions. Publix is a little hard than CVS just because there are so many CVS' compared to Publix, but you can find jobs at either. 👍

Thanks for letting me know.

I've spent many years living with relatives as undergrad (to save money) and I'm not happy. That was why I was looking at apartments rather than room. I think I should consider a mother-in-paw suit or something if it's detached from the house.

Anyway, can you give me some info about neighborhoods? I want to stay away from troublesome ones 😀. By the way, what do you use for internet? Comcast seems overpriced and Centurylink seems slow...

Oh, as a pharmacy student, what do you think about working? It's possible but is it worth it?

I am not really familiar with the area so I can't say.

I used to have Comcast and I was happy with it at the time. I know nothing of centurylink.

To say that working is "worth it" would be a mild understatement. At least work over the summer, but also work during the semester if you can handle it. 👍

Thank you very much though for the advices!!! I really appreciate it! 🙂
