I know the VIRMP app is due in early December, but is there a general cut-off date after this for visiting internship sites before they make their decisions?

I've heard that exeterning at some practices has the potential to help out your application when you apply for internships.

I'm trying to take this into consideration as I schedule the month of December during 4th year.

The programs rank order list is due the second week of January. Look at the internships you are interested in some will state that visiting is encouraged--can be done any time not just in December--I visited some internship sites in June because that is when I had time off. Others don't care if you visit or only want selected individuals to visit.
