Externing Abroad

It's not uncommon for medical students to do a rotation in another country, usually a third world country. Does anyone have students at their school who have done an externship abroad? I'm not sure if any dental schools allow it, but it sounds like it would be a great experience...

I know most schools do "missionary"-style outreaches to other countries. NYU goes to India, Tanzania, Nicaragua (I think), plus some other places. Good experience. I haven't heard anything about externing at a foreign university but that doesn't mean it's unheard of. Let me know if you hear anything!

UMaryland offers international externship to Vietnam. The university also offers a select number of travel scholarships for the summer time to do missionary work.

Penn has an international externship program for 4th yrs..I just got this from the archives..a few yrs old but gives u the info u want.
