I was a member of a solar car team in graduate school. http://solar42.mst.edu/. I estimated that I spent around 1000 hours with the team for 2 years. However, if I include the races (4 weeks of 24 hour involvement), the hours will jump to almost 1,700 hours! 😱 Would that look a little ridiculous to adcom? Should I subtract some hours (perhaps sleeping time during the races) to make it a little more reasonable?
