I just completed my freshman year of college with a 3.7 GPA, and an internship at Harvard Medical School. I am set on medical school, I think/hope that I have the determination and ability. I would like to try to do something else this summer, can anyone give me some suggestions on what I should do, and how I would go about finding these opportunities? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

What kind of "something different" are you interested in?

Volunteer at a hospital...do some local volunteering. Remember these are all things pre-med kids do though you'd be better served to make yourself stand out, and do things you enjoy instead of trying to fit the cookie cutter pre-med student..Btw nice job on the GPA, just try to keep that in the >3.6 and you should be golden! Most of all, relax! Your only a freshman

Thanks, I'm trying not to stress too much, only enough to keep my GPA up. I'm emailing a few local hospitals/care centers for summer volunteer work
