I do not have much extracurricular activites ( i was a mentor and volunteer at a free health clinic) but had to stop due to personal reasons.

I have more than 100 hrs at random volunteer events.( some health related some not)
I have shadowed/ plan to shadow 5 different doctors.--At my school shadowing is a class so you must shadow for the entire semester with the same doctor.

But I am a caretaker to my grandma and I tutor and babysit my cousins can I list this on my application.

Also I plan on graduating in Fall 2012 so Spring and Summer before med school I was going to work, but I was informed that want you do in the future can not be listed on your app.

I probably wouldn't list the caretaker bit, but you could always mention that you 'tutor young kids' regularly. 😉

Completely confused by this, because a care taker=CNA=most awesome patient contact ever.

I don't think it's a good idea to get a letter of recommendation from her friend. That would be like a rec letter from your mom.

Typically, you want letters from professors and physicians that know you well.
