I have more than three professor LORs and more than one physician LOR. Is it kosher to send all of them to the school or should you just send the 3 prof & 1 phys LOR? In my mind, the more the merrier. But I don't want it to look like I don't know how to follow instructions.

Any thoughts?

I have five LOR from science professors. You might want to read the secondary application carefully as some schools like DMU, AZCOM, and a few others specifically tells you to send only 2. They will only take the first two they receive and trash? the rest.

I attended MEDEXTRAVAGANZA at OSU-COM and a representative mentioned that it is alright to send a couple more than requested, but probably no more than that, and she assured me that all of the LOR's would be read and placed in my file. I had 3 science, 2 non-science, and 1 D.O. letter sent. I, too, had been told that some schools only read the first letters that come through and trash the rest, but not at OSU for sure. Hope that helps!

Yes that does help! OSU is one of the schools I was wondering about. Thanks!

I sent 5 initially (2 sci/2 non-sci/1 DO) then sent a new sci prof's LOR when waitlisted (I sent a letter of interest then too).

I found the admissions staff extremely pleasant to deal with. They do make notes of your calls/inquiries in you file (post-interview at least). I never inquired pre-interview. OSU was by far my latest interview (4/1/05), so don't sweat not hearing from them early (if that is the case for you). I was also an out of state resident at the time.

Had you seen the campus before your interview? I think I'm going to call them today and try to schedule a tour. I've never actually been on campus there so I'm not sure what the facilities are like.
I think my LORs are really a big deal for me because they show my character, experience and give a first hand account to the way that I learn. Which is one of my best assets! Even better than that darn MCAT score. THank god! I won't overload them but I do think I'll send an extra one or two just to have a little variety.

Definetly tour the campus very small but warm and friendly. I'm taking the kaplan course sponsored by the college their this summer. The location is kind of crappy but still a nice school.
