Extra LORs?

Are you guys submitting extra LORs besides the ones required?

Also, wanted your opinion on using a letter from an ophthalmologist? I have an OD letter but I also worked for an ophthalmologist and I know he would write me a good letter... what do you think?

I'm wondering because the OD didn't really take the time to get to know the interns so I'm not sure how good the letter will be... I think it'll be kind of generic...
