Hello! I am a new member to this board, but I had a question about volunteering, and other activities. I currently volunteer at my hospital in the ER (I love it too!!) and I am in a couple of clubs at my college, (AMSA and Beta Beta Beta), and I am a part of big brothers and big sisters. Somehow I feel that may not be enough because viewing mdapplicants others have done so much more than I have. But the thing is that I live at home while I go to college and both of my parents work on weekends and my younger sister is mentally handicapped so I have to watch her anytime my parents work and so my weekends and fridays do not allow me to have a job or be a part of activities that occur on the weekends and during the week my schedule is full as it is. Do medical schools recognize these sorts of situations?
