Hey I am a sophomore undergraduate student. First off, congratulations to all the newly accepted dental students and to the students that are currently in dental school already of course. I was wondering what extracurricular activities everyone participated in or are currently participating in at their undergraduate schools to enhance their applications. Thanks.
 
right now, i am growing a mustache for charity...yes, that counts. it actually came up in two of my interviews.
 
I joined ASDA at my school and I did a lot of extracurricular activities with them...
 
I am a Junior, so I'm not applying until May for the 2010 cycle, but I thought I would list my Extracurricular Activities anyway. This is it so far, I hope it is helpful 🙂:

-Secretary of the Pre-Dental Society
-School of Arts and Sciences Transfer Mentor Program
-its like a Transfer Student Orientation Advisor, but besides running orientations, we also give presentations, and run various events throughout the semester for the Transfer students
-Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
-Rutgers University Psychology Big Sibling Program
-mentoring Freshmen about being a Psychology major/minor
-Therapy Dogs Inc.
-visit Alzheimers patients and Autistic children with my dog, Cody
-Operation Smile
-Donated to Locks of Love
-10 inches of my hair this past May
-Shadowing
-currently shadowing a general/cosmetic dentist, but planning on shadowing other specialties during winter break, and shadowing the head of orthodontics at a dental school during spring break
